Patient App (iPhone and Android)
This feature is only available for tenants on specific enterprise plans
The BOS offers some tenants a whitelabel (branded with your company) app that allows your patients to log in to take actions like:
- View all their appointments, and mark themselves 'arrived' for an appointment they have today.
- View and download invoices (EG: for private health claims)
- If they have a membership: book/cancel any classes in the next 4 week period. Pause memberships
- More features are coming over time.
Tenant Configuration
The tenant administrators have access to configure some settings that apply globally to the whole tenant:
- Membership Pause Policy: minimum and maximum pause durations, pause reasons
- More settings coming over time
Managing Patients
Any users who have the Patient App Management permission are able to see the Patient App under Client Management.
From here you can manage the following:
Patient Accounts
A patient account is a unique email address and password that can manage a patient in The BOS. The reason for the seperation is:
- You may want a caregiver to have an account to manage a minor.
- Many patients can have the same email address, but we require each patient account to have a unique email address
- Over time we will add the ability to manage multiple patients from one login (IE: managing you and spouse or multiple kids from the one app)
You can use this to:
- Create a new Patient Account
- Change the associated patient (which is really only done while you are first testing the app)
- Change password
- Check when they last used the app and what device was used.
- Send test notifications
- Leave comments
Alerts
You can configure alerts which are banners that appear at the top of the app. This is useful for important announcements like "Clinic is closed today due to bad weather" or "No classes on during christmas week". We will be rolling out a news feed in future for more "what's new" type stuff.
By default Alerts will appear for all users, but you can filter it down to specific locations, memberships etc.

Typical Patient Onboarding / Offboarding flow
Currently Patients can't sign up for a membership themselves, they must see a staff member to get set up. They must also contact a staff member to cancel the membership. The Patient App works similarly:
- When setting up the patient or membership, or anytime after that, create a patient account for them.
- Once set up they can log in and manage classes/pauses/invoices themselves
- Once they cancel their membership or no longer need app access you can delete the Patient Account.
- If they need a password reset they must contact a staff member.
