Booking Delay

Booking Delay measures the working days between the date the appointment was booked in and the actual appointment date. 

For example: Booking in today for an appointment tomorrow would be a 1 day booking delay. Booking in today for exactly one week from now would be a 5 day booking delay. 

Average Booking Delay

We use median because mean is very affected by outlier values.

For example if you and I make $150k/year and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson makes $10m/year then the 3 of us have the following average wages:

  • Mean: 3.4m/year
  • Median: 150k/year

We found internally that like one person would book a year in advance so the whole number would skew way up even if everybody else was booking in the next day.
