'Profession' vs 'Practitioner Profession'

Many rows on the mega report can be broken down by both Profession and Practitioner Profession

  • Profession is the profession assigned to that product or service
  • Practitioner Profession is the profession of the practitioner providing the service.

Most of the time these values should be the same.

An example where they won't match is if an Exercise Physiologist has a sick day and a Physio fills in for that practitioner. The services will still be Exercise Physiology (unless you change the service type) but the practitioner's profession is now Physio. These different breakdowns allow you to answer different questions. For example:

  • What type of services are todays clients getting?
Profession will show that the clients are doing EP sessions
  • What type of practitioners are working today?
    Practitioner Profession will show Physio

Most of the time you will just use either one unless there are specific situations like this where the difference between them can provide insight.
